For the past 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been working tirelessly to end cancer. One of the many ways to get involved with the American Cancer Society is to participate in a fundraising event like the Climb to Conquer Cancer Phoenix. Walkers, climbers, and volunteers come together to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about reducing the risk of cancer, and raise money to bring hope to cancer patients.
The TruPath Family Team
Recently, TruPath team members and family came together to participate in the Climb to Conquer Cancer. The climb is a 5.5-mile hike up Summit Road at South Mountain Park. Beth Suchocki, an Associate Recruiter at TruPath, brought the idea of participating in the climb to the team. She quickly received support and team TruPath Family was born! To participate in the climb, each registrant paid a $40 fee. The American Cancer Society encourages each participant to fundraise an additional $60/person. The TruPath Family team of five spent one month fundraising leading up to the climb with a goal of $1,000 for TruPath's first team climb.
It was a beautiful day for the climb in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, February 25th! The morning was chilly, but the day quickly warmed up with the rising sun and rising heart rates.

With each mile up the mountain, the team encountered happy climbers, canine companions and beautiful scenery. Each mile was accompanied by food, drinks or swag. Volunteers offered bagels, gum, chapstick, sunscreen and flavored water — all the essentials to make each additional mile up the mountain enjoyable. Climbers gathered at the top for a party and pictures. Then, the teams took buses 5.5 miles back down.
As a TruPath Family team, TruPath raised $1,140. As of March 15th, all Phoenix Climb to Conquer Cancer participants have raised $380,829.49! Fundraising is open until May 1st. If you are interested in donating, CLICK HERE.
TruPath was excited to get involved with the American Cancer Society because we have friends and loved ones that have been affected by cancer — like Scott, who has conquered cancer twice! We want to make a difference in the lives of those we know, those we will always remember and those we don't know but who can benefit from support.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything the American Cancer Society does. They actively fundraise, help patients, advocate for life-saving change, and stay committed to helping achieve the mission of freeing the world from cancer.
We would love to see you on the mountain next year! So, grab your coworkers, family and friends and start a climb team.
It's never too early to start fundraising for 2018. If you can't find a team, reach out to us. We look forward to growing our TruPath Family team next year and upping our team goal!
Sincerely, the TruPath Family
