The Valley is full of volunteer opportunities, especially for adults. However, many professionals value opportunities that include their significant others and children as well. At TruPath, we value giving back to our communities. We also love sharing our experiences with loved ones, especially our little ones! So, if you're looking for volunteering opportunities for kids, chat with your company and affiliated organizations. You might be pleasantly surprised at how open they are to include your family in upcoming events. As a TruPath team, we've volunteered our time with several family-friendly associations: UMOM, St. Mary's Food Bank, the American Cancer Society, and Kid's Chance, to name a few. Specifically, we highlight our experience with Valley Partnership below.
Valley Partnership (VP) is an advocate for responsible development. Each year, they bring their partners together for a project to benefit our community. A non-profit organization is selected as a recipient to benefit from the skills, resources, and efforts of various VP partners. The recipient then receives renovations and enhancements of facilities for those in need. Of course, the TruPath team was overjoyed to participate in VP's 30th Annual Community Project. This year's benefits the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Phoenix Urban Farm.
St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is dedicated to feeding, clothing, housing, and healing disadvantaged individuals and families in our community. They also provide several volunteer opportunities for the community to come support. This year, SVdP was the recipient of VP's 2017 Community Project, allowing the community to renovate their urban garden.
St. Vincent de Paul's Urban Garden resides next to the Human Service Campus downtown. You will find several non-profits on campus that work together to provide resources for individuals in need in the community. View some of the Human Services Campus partners below:
St. Vincent de Paul's Urban Garden
Valley Partnership Volunteers from around the Valley came together on Saturday, November 4th to renovate SVdP's urban garden. Volunteers cleaned up trash, built planters boxes, paved walkways, dug garden rows, and planted a variety of food and flowers. Children were provided with a kid-friendly zone for painting and also allowed to help with the activities. Not to mention, there was dirt galore to play in! The Cardinals football mascot and cheerleaders were present to hype up the crowd and pose for photo ops of course! Some of our littlest participants weren't quite sure what to think about Big Red... After hours of work, the crowd made amazing progress! We look forward to a future trip to the garden to see everything in bloom.
In conclusion, we hope you now have some new ideas on associations that have volunteering opportunities for kids across the Valley. We are always looking for new opportunities, so please share yours!
